The Guia Fortress is located at the peak of Guia Hill on the Macau Peninsula, offering a panoramic view of the entire peninsula. On the fortress grounds, there is a lighthouse and a small chapel. The Guia Lighthouse, constructed in 1864, was the first modern lighthouse on the Chinese coast and serves as the geographic reference point for Macau on world maps. Adjacent to the lighthouse, the small chapel is named Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows. The interior of the chapel features colorful murals on the dome and walls, showcasing a blend of Chinese and Western artistic techniques, making it truly unique among the numerous churches in the area.
